What was/were the impetus behind Tanimura Midnight? What were your influences(apart from Blade Runner)? Any special reason why the project was named Tanimura Midnight? Are there going to be any new Tanimura Midnight releases anytime soon? Last question, I promise. When are we going to see any Tanimura Midnight merch?

1. Tanimura Midnight influences: Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Air, John Carpenter movies...
2. Tanimura comes from the loungey Japanese singer Shinji Tanimura but also because Tanimura means "village" in japanese, so the name is technically "village midnight"– which pulls together some of the feelings and imagery of the music... i.e. beautiful japanese villages at midnight with a sport-bike parked by a stream. Additionally, the name in japanese on the cover translates to "Tanimura at Zero Hour", which works particularly well in japanese because we were told that to refer to the time of "midnight" as "zero hour" feels very 80s, so it fits the sound and influences even more!3. New release on the way, only 2 songs made so far and hopefully there will be some merch that comes with it. What kind of merch would you like, t-shirts? chopsticks/soup-bowl set? :) We'd love that actually! -
T-shirts/hoodies, messenger bags. This is just me but Ill gladly pay a little extra for a signed release(with handmade packaging). Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, we're getting into fanboy territory but what can I say, I loved the first release and have high hopes for any subsequent releases.
